Zinc Sulphate is a white, fine crystalline powder or a pearl-shaped product. It is a prime nutrient for plants. This micro-nutrient is primarily used in maintaining normal health and increased yields, The Zinc Sulphate is applied directly to the crops. It is also blended with other Fertilizers like SSP / GSSP etc. as it is required by plants in small quantity.
Chemical Formula:
- Zinc Sulfate 33 %: ZnSO4•H2O (Zinc Sulfate monohydrate)
- Zinc Sulfate 21 %: ZnSO4 • 7H2O (Zinc Sulfate Hydrahydrate)
- Zinc Sulfate 12 %: ZnSO4 in solution.
Some of the major components of Zinc Sulphate Plants are:
- Digesters
- Rubber Lined Mild Steel Tank
- Pumps
- Filter Press
- Crystallizers
- Chilling Plant
- Compressors
- Mild Steel Storage Tanks
- Centrifuge s
Procedure
The basic idea is that by combining zinc oxide and sulfuric acid a reaction will take place that will make zinc sulfate.
ZnO + H2SO4 –> H2O + ZnSO4
